The Public Works Department works hard to support the City and our residents by ensuring that our City buildings, parks, streets, and vehicles/equipment are well-maintained, diligently cared for, and operating efficiently and effectively.

What We Do

Facility Maintenance

We oversee maintenance on City-owned buildings, and coordinate meeting and accommodation requests for use of facilities owned by the City.

Fleet Maintenance

We maintain vehicles and equipment used citywide, and are responsible for City compliance with all laws regarding vehicles and fuel. We also perform welding services for the City.

Landscape Lighting Maintenance Districts (LLMD)

There are thirty-eight landscape lighting maintenance districts within the City. Each area was created individually based upon an Engineer’s Report which identifies the assessment approved for the District and the services that will be provided to the District. While services provided to each District may vary based on the District’s Engineer’s Report services can include: common area landscape maintenance, street lighting, storm system maintenance.

Park Maintenance and Recreation

We support other departments through plan reviews, maintenance and repairs of all City parks, park snack bars, and City-owned landscaping. We also perform graffiti removal in parks and chemical spraying when necessary, and handle installation and repair of irrigation systems. We work with the community by responding to citizen complaints, and administering recreation programming and city events.

Street Maintenance  

We provide for the maintenance and repair of streets, potholes, sidewalks, street lighting, road shoulders, street sweeping, street striping, traffic signals, and sign installation. We also perform special projects such as weed abatement and traffic control as needed for special assignments/events.
