Notice Process

Each monthly utility bill has a stated due date. The charges shown on the bill are due and payable on or before the bill due date. If a payment is not made by the due date it is considered delinquent. If a bill is delinquent for at least sixty days the City may discontinue utility service. Additional notices will be provided as outlined below:

  1. If the City intends to discontinue service after the 60 day late period has lapsed, a notice will be mailed to the customer of record and service address at least 15 days before disconnection and will specify the service disconnection date.
  2. A final notice will be will be posted 48 hours before disconnection at the service address.

Service will not be disconnected if the billed amount is being disputed or an application for a payment arrangement has been filed with the City.

It is the City’s intent to work with our customers to bring accounts current and ensure every step is taken to avoid service disconnections. Please discuss specific situations and concerns with City Customer Service to ensure all measures have been taken to avoid a service disconnection once your account is delinquent.
